Set on Monte Amiata at an altitude of 1400 metres, Albergo Le Macinaie - Monte Amiata is in one of Europes largest beech forests. This family-run hotel lies right opposite the ski slopes and offers a restaurant. Former mill Albergo Albergo Le Macinaie - Monte Amiata has been completely renovated in 1999 and has a traditional mountain design. It features a childrens game room with a Wii games console, as well as a wellness area with sauna, hot tub and gym. The restaurant serves Tuscan specialities including homemade pasta and desserts and a variety of certified wines and olive oil. Breakfast is buffet style, with freshly baked cakes, bread, cheeses and fresh fruit. Rooms include an LCD TV with digital and satellite channels, together with a private bathroom. Wi-Fi throughout is free. Staff organise excursions and provide maps of cycling and trekking paths around Castel Del Piano. Motorbike and quad rental is available from May until October.
