One of the main landmarks on the car-free island of Wangerooge is the Westturm (West Tower), and this lies on the grounds of the hostel.It is just a 45-minute walk to the island village with its beach promenade. The Islands village with restaurants, bars and shopping facilities can be reached within 15 minutes by bike. Guests can play table tennis and billiards at this hotel, and the area is popular for cycling. Marina Wangeroode is 500 metres away. Please note that you must be a member of HI (Hostelling International) or one of the national organizations such as the DJH (German Youth Hostel Association) at this establishment. Membership can be either completed online or on arrival at the reception. Membership costs EUR 7 per year for individual guests under 26 and EUR 22.50 for single adults over 27 years or for families with one child up to 26 years. From June 01 each year, new members get the membership for the current year at half price. Special membership conditions for groups such as schools, associations and other institutions are available online.
