A town of architectural and historical interest, once a major stopover for pilgrims en route to Santiago de Compostelle. There is a remarkable medieval street of timbered houses (where our house is located), St James bridge and gatehouse, the Citadel, Romanesque churches, a museum, a cultural centre, old and new exhibits and more. Located in the historic quarter of Parthenay, Maison Saint Jacques is a B&B set in a 14th-century, half-timbered townhouse. It offers free Wi-Fi, a courtyard garden and a furnished terrace. Parthenay Train Station is 1 km away and restaurants are within walking distance. Parthenay is often used as a holiday stop-over as there is a lot to do in the area.
